Ayurvedic hair treatments, for common hair problems, are becoming very popular these days. This practice has countless secrets which help you in curing many hair issues. Getting healthy and longs hair is not difficult. Ayurvedic hair treatments are the time-proven remedies with best results because they treat your hair not only outside, but also from inside.

There are a few reasons which lead to hair loss which include stress, lack of sleep, improper diet, intoxicating substances, dandruff or fungal infections, diseases like lupus or diabetes and hormonal imbalance in men and women.

Bhringaraj (Eclipta prostrate):

Bhringaraj is known as a king of herbs. This is the best herb for hair with hair growth stimulants.

All you have to do is just to prepare a paste of its leaves and applying it on the scalp of your hair and then rinsing off after half an hour. You may not have a direct access to this herb, if so; you may get a pack of dried Bhringaraj and steep the leaves in warm water for some time and then make the paste.

If you want to grow your hair healthy and long, practice the treatment on regular basis.

Brahmi (centella asiatica):

This ayurvedic herb not only promotes hair growth but also used for memory, intelligence, concentration and alertness. It is used as brain tonic and also promotes healthy skin.

Simply massage your scalp with brahmi oil which is known as Gotu kola. It helps in nourishing hair follicles and making the blood circulation smooth in your head. Using it with curd carries more benefits for your hair and using with lemon oil helps in eliminating dandruff from your hair.


Methi is also known as miracle herb. This is a herb which is very commonly used in our houses and is excellent treatment for hair growth.

Roast the herb slightly and then grind roasted methi. Add it into warm water and make a paste. Apply on your hair and leave for 20-30 minutes and wash off.

Aloe Vera:

Aloe Vera helps in keeping your system clean from within. It is very good to prevent hair loss and helps in growing your hair healthier and longer.

Prepare half cups of aloe Vera juice and add a small quantity or cumin in it. Use it 2-3 times a day for 90 days; it would stop your hair from becoming weak and make them strong and healthy. Drink or swallow 2 tbsp of the latex of the leaf to increase your metabolism and also get good bowel movements. Remember, excess amount can lead to diarrhea.

Amla (Indian Gooseberry):

Amla is loaded with multiple nutrients such as minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, especially vitamin C. It prevents your hair from graying and acts as a good conditioner.

Prepare amla juice and drink it for dandruff problem.

Add a pack of amla powder with hemma, brahmi powder and curd and apply on your hair. Leave for 2 hours and then wash your hair with clean water. Applying amla juice on your hair strengthens hair follicles.

Muskroot or the Indian Spikenard

Another name of this herb is Aromatic jatamansi. It helps in growing your hair. It also makes your complexion fair by removing impurities from your blood.

Aromatic jatamansi can be used in the form of the capsule (do not take more than 6mg). you can also use it by applying directly on your hair scalp.

Banyan Tree Root:

It is one of the best herbs used for preventing hair damaging and hair fall.

Grind a little quantity of banyan tree root and add lemon juice in it. Apply the mixture in your scalp. Repeat the treatment at least thrice a week.

Ayurvedic Oils:

Ayurvedic oils are used to massage the hair scalps to improve blood circulation and rejuvenating your hair follicles. They help growing your hair from the root to the tip and reduce hair fall up to maximum limit. They also prevent dandruff if lemon juice is added into the oil.

Ayurvedic oils include coconut oil, brahmi oil, almond oil, Mahabhringraj oil, amla oil, arnica oil and others.
