How to cure Headache Naturally


Headaches are very common all around the world. There are different types of headaches with different underlying reasons and many of their patients seek treatment on a near-daily basis. Headaches such as migraine, tension headaches, cluster headaches, sinus headaches, rebound headaches and other types of headaches can be alleviated through several home remedies. Massage temporarily relieves your headache. Getting a neck, back, head or shoulder massages proves helpful at the times you suffer from headache. A six weekly massage session helps in curing migraine and promotes better sleep.

Heat and cold:

This is a headache therapy without any risk. Even the women who are pregnant and confronting headache can also adopt this method to get rid of headache. If you get neck tightness, applying heat on the back of your neck may help you while for a pulsating headache you should try icing rather than heating.

Use caffeine:

A strong mug of coffee may help you in relieving headache because caffeine reduces the swelling of blood vessels and helps in relieving headache. It is also used as an ingredient in strong pain killers such as Excedrin.

If you are a regular coffee drinker and you drink it quite often then you should skip it. Headache can be caused due to caffeine withdrawal.

Nuts help in reducing headache:

They are a natural remedy for regular headaches and are a very good alternative to other medicines you may use for releasing your pain. Almonds act as pain reliever as they contain an ingredient called salicin which is an agent in popular over the counter killers.

Fish oil:

It has been shown by studies that fish oil intake can also help in reducing headaches, even severe migraine. Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acid which is very good for the health of your heart. It has been stated by the American Heart Association that the fish oil ingredients help in reducing blood clotting, blood pressure and inflammation and makes the heartbeats normal and these actions in turn help in reducing headaches.

Chamomile Tea:

Chamomile tea contains ingredients which help in making you relax and releasing pain. Use one tea bag of chamomile tea in boiled water and let it steep while keeping it covered. After 10 minutes, sweeten it with honey and take small sips.

Lavender oil:

Even just the Soothing fragrance of lavender oil helps in relieving tension headaches. Lavender oil also helps in reducing migraine signs. Its massage helps in curing headaches. Don’t take it orally.


Apple gives you relief from headaches as it has the properties that can balance the acid and alkaline levels in your body. Apple cider vinegar works the same way. You can simply eat an apple with some salt and two spoons of Apple cider vinegar in a glass full of water can be used to relieve headache.


Ginger is one of the best natural remedy for getting an instant relief from the headache. It helps in quelling nausea which takes place during migraines. You can drink ginger tea and can also drink it by adding an equal part of lemon juice in ginger juice. Using it once or twice a day provides you with a quick relief.

There are a few other natural ways to cure your headaches such as using peppermint oil, cinnamon, cloves, basil leaves etc may prove very helpful in curing your headaches.
