Daily Hair Wash is Good or Bad for your Hairs

The answer to the question whether to wash hair daily or not depends upon few things. The first thing to be considered should be your hair type, if you have dry hair; you are not suggested to wash your hair daily as already lack natural hair oils, and the shampoos will eventually make your and scalp more dry, and if you have oily hair you can wash your hair daily, in fact your should wash your hair daily. There are benefits of washing hair daily, and there are benefits of washing it less frequently. Don’t be confused. The following are the conditions in which you shouldn’t wash your hair daily.

Dry hair

When you have dry hair and scalp, if you shampoo daily, you are more likely to have more dry hair because of the shampoo and excessive interaction with water, Shampoos contains sodium laureth sulfate which dries out hair. To save your hair from getting dry you shouldn’t shampoo too often.

Angela Lamb says, “Shampoo traps oils, so if you do it too frequently, you may dry your hair out, leaving it prone to breakage.”

Hair needs some oil

Your hair needs some healthy amount to natural oil that your skin provides if you have a normal scalp. Lamb explains “Hair produces natural oil called sebum, and shampoo is an emulsifier that captures and traps excess oil, dirt, and product residue, which you then rinse out to clean the hair,” in this phenomena you are suggested not to wash your hair too frequently as some dirt is ok and natural.

It is also suggested that you can stay without washing hair as long as possible.

Alli Webb suggests, “For hair that’s normal in terms of oiliness and medium weight, I sometimes tell my clients to go as long as they can without shampooing.”

The other case:

There are some people who might need daily hair wash, as their hair require it. The following are the conditions in which you must wash your hair daily, or at least rinse your hair before going to bed.

If you use hair cosmetics

If you are regular user of hair cosmetics like hair gel, hair sprays and other products you shouldn’t let your hair with such harmful products for too long and should wash at least once in a day.

  • The hair cosmetics can rub your hair scalp
  • blocks the skin pores,
  • And even get on the pillows.

The hair cosmetics usually contain mildly toxic ingredients, and allowing them to absorb through your skin into your bloodstream is like consuming the toxins which is unhealthy.

If you sweat too often

Sweat carry lactic acid, which can cause hair fall, it also contains the Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is a sex hormone, that causes ‘calcification’ in the scalp, restricting blood flow to the hair follicles, that consequently restrict nutrient supply to the hair and make hair dead.
