Disorder of itching skin is medically known as Pruritus . It is an irritating problem which can be controlled.
Possible causes for itching are:
Dry skin is the cause of itchy skin if you don’t find red spots or some other change in the itchy area of your skin. Environmental factors are usually the reason of dry skin, such as low humidity in air, cold winds etc. Taking bath for too long also causes skin dryness.
Reaction to different drugs and medicines can also be a cause of skin itching. Antibiotics, antifungal drugs or narcotic pain medications can become the reason of Pruritus.
Skin conditions and rashes:
Various skin conditions cause itching. These skin conditions include dermatitis, psoriasis, scabies, chickenpox, hives lice etc. suck kind of itching is usually accompanied by some other signs such as spots, irritated skin, red skin, blisters etc. This type of itching generally affects a specific area of the skin.
Some women, during pregnancy come in contact with skin itching. A few skin conditions can become severe during pregnancy i.e. dermatitis. Itching in pregnant females usually affect breasts, arms, thighs and abdomen.
Those conditions which affect the nervous system may cause itching skin. These disorders include diabetes mellitus, pinched nerves, multiple sclerosis, multiple sclerosis etc.
Some internal diseases may also become the reason of itching skin. They may include malabsorption, kidney failure, liver diseases. Anemia, iron deficiency, thyroid, leukemia, lymphoma, cancer etc. Repeatedly scratching may affect the different areas of the body. Itching, caused by internal diseases may affect the whole body.
Irritation and allergic reactions:
Some substances can cause allergic reaction and this irritation may lead to itching. Such substances include usually chemical containing products such as soaps, cosmetics etc. Food allergy may also cause itchy skin.
How Can You Cure Itchy Skin
You can try these remedies for getting rid of itching skin:
Rub peels on the itchy area, it will bring relief to you.
Cut an aloevera leave lengthwise, from top to bottom. Scoop out the gel from into it and rub it directly in infected area. Leftover can be kept in refrigerator for using next time.
Fresh Basil Leaves:
Basil leaves contain camphor and thymol which are anti-itching compounds. Just crush the leaves and directly rub on infected area.
Mix the clay with sufficient amount of water to make plain and smooth paste, in a bowl. Mix it evenly until it has creamy consistency. Apply the paste on the infected area. Let it dry, after it get dries, rinse it off.
Take a bowl of plain and uncooked oatmeal and add a bit of water in it and. Let it sit for a few minutes and make its paste. Apply the paste on itchy skin. Let the paste dry and wash.
Crush the peppermint leaves and directly rub on the skin. Leftover should be saved in the fridge. You can freeze the crushed peppermint into ice cubes. Colds peppermint leaves may bring down inflammation and swelling of infected area.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Take organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the “mother,” a strand-like sediment floating at the bottom of the bottle that contains raw enzymes and beneficial bacteria.. Dip a cloth or cotton in it and dab it on itchy area.
