How to Get Rid of Ants Using Natural Ways

Ants are very critical to environment in too countless ways. They become pests quickly when   are in search of food, water and shelter. The prime targets of ants are generally kitchen and bathroom. All of you need to get rid of this tiny creature. Here in this article we are listing a few tips which are easy and cheap. You can use the ingredients which are already available at your home.

Ways to get rid of ants naturally:

Lemon Juice:

Lemon is best to use for getting rid of ants as it is the best repellent. It becomes more effective when used with another repellent such as essential oils.

Take equal quantity of lemon juice and water in a spray bottle. Foe every ¼ cup, add 12 drops of essential oil. But in case of using clove oil as essential oil, use just a few drops of it as it is stronger than other essential oils.

Spray around the points from where ants get entered and where you generally see them. Repeat the procedure every 2-3 days until their complete removal.

Vinegar:

Vinegar works just like the lemon does. The smell of the vinegar works as a repellent to the ants. It is best used when mixed with other essential oils or citrus peels. You can use both the white vinegar and the apple cider vinegar.

Add the same quantity of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Add 15-20 drops of any essential oil in the mixture. Shake the spray bottle well.

Spray all the places where you do see ants and all the entry points. Spray around baseboards. Repeat every 2 to 3 days until ants are totally gone.

Baking Soda and ground sugar:

Mix baking soda and grounded sugar in some pot. Set this mixture in the places where ants are usually seen. As ants carry and acidic substance within their body for protection, a small volcanic experiment takes place in their body. Use it for several days. You will see a huge difference after making it use for a few times.

Peanut Butter:

Take a spoon of peanut butter and mix it with 1 table spoon of sugar and 1tea spoon of borax. Take a plastic straw and fill it with the mixture. Now cut the straw into half inch pieces and place the next to those places where ants appear.

Peppermint essential oil:

Essential oils are good ant repellants. Take a cotton ball and put a few drops of peppermint essential oil on it. Place it on the places where ants crawl down/

Cinnamon and Cloves:

Ants don’t like the smell of cinnamon and cloves and on the other hand, cinnamon and cloves make your house smell good and ants hate it sprinkled in their way.

Coffee Grounds:

Use of coffee grounds in order to get rid of ants is quite useful. When you put it in the cracks from where the ants appear, they never return. Coffee grounds don’t kill the ants rather just keep them away from your home.

Chalk:

Take chalks. You can get them from market very easily. Draw a line on the place from where they come. It will keep the ants away as ants won’t cross a line drawn with chalks.

Baby powder:

Ants don’t like the smell of the baby powder. Sprinkle the powder on the places where ants enter your house.

Citrus peeling:

Citrus peeling also helps very much in order to get rid of ants. Blend citrus peeling with water in a blender. Most effective peelings are lemon peelings. Pour it in a spray bottle and spray it on the places where ants crawl down. This procedure will help you in getting rid of ants completely.

Other ways:

Other effective ways to get rid of ants are strong perfumes, tartar cream, tea tree oil etc. Mix any of these with water and spray all around the places where ants appear. Spray it for few days, you will find better results within a few days.
