Know what you love
The first and foremost thing you need to do before choosing a career path for you is to think about what do you love. Think! What subjects you used to love as a student? Determine the best experience u ever had
Think about all the recent experiences you got in your life which helped you in learning something about yourself. Select the one which you feel has given you a great degree to contentment. Write down a sentence which explains why the experience gave you satisfaction. Learning what makes you joyous can help you in choosing a career which will make you able to experience more such experiences.
Make a self-portrait
The next thing to do is writing down a list of characteristics you think describe your overall personality such as friendly, impatience, honest etc. you may also ask your friends and family to tell some of your qualities as the others see us more clearly than we see ourselves. Add the suggestions given by them to the list. Now take a review of the qualities and think about what kind of career is best for you.
Learn your strengths and weaknesses
Prepare a list of your strengths and weaknesses. Write down at least five top strengths and the same number of weaknesses. Know what kind of employers will be in need of employees with same strengths you do possess. Your weaknesses may also help you in letting you know a lot about which carrier you might go for. You can also move away from the careers you find that you are now skilled for or confident to go with. This way knowing your weaknesses may help you in skipping the career paths not suitable for you.
